Full Stack Developer (Django, React, AI)

About the role

Spark Tutoring is scaling its technology platform and needs an experienced Full Stack Developer to design and deliver high‑impact, AI‑enhanced features. You will work across the Django backend, Convex application layer and React front‑end, collaborating with both technical and non‑technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full‑stack features using Django, PostgreSQL and Convex.
• Integrate vector databases such as Pinecone for search and retrieval.
• Develop AI/LLM‑powered components, including retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines, embeddings, and prompt engineering.
• Own performance, scalability and security of internal server builds and infrastructure.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for non‑technical teammates, troubleshooting bugs and issues.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and improve SOPs and knowledge‑sharing resources.
• Provide clear progress reports to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Lead testing sessions, ensure code quality through testing, refactoring and code reviews.
• Contribute to technical planning, effort estimation and risk identification.

Required profile

• 5+ years of full‑stack development experience with senior‑level ownership.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Django and Python.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design and query optimisation.
• Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone) for retrieval use cases.
• Proven track record building AI/LLM features such as RAG pipelines and prompt engineering.
• Comfortable working with modern reactive back‑end platforms like Convex.
• Excellent written and spoken English and ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
