Frontend Software Engineer – Payments

About the role

Payward is looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join its Payments & Blockchain team. You will help build and maintain the payment processing layer that moves digital and fiat dollars in and out of the Kraken ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑quality payment processing interfaces using React.js, React Native and related technologies.
• Build seamless transaction experiences that prioritize speed, security and reliability.
• Improve onboarding flows to reduce friction and increase user trust.
• Create innovative features that boost engagement and retention within the payments ecosystem.
• Set standards for secure, maintainable code and lead the development of complex financial software.
• Influence technical decisions, contribute to product strategy and mentor junior engineers.
• Design scalable, fault‑tolerant systems that meet compliance and security best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, primarily on web and mobile applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working in a large technology organization or a fast‑growing startup.
