Front Office Receptionist

About the role

The Front Office Receptionist is the first and last point of contact for guests at Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town. You will ensure smooth arrivals and departures, manage front‑desk administration with precision, and embody the hotel's RAISE values of Responsibility, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver warm, professional, personalised service to every guest.
• Manage guest check‑ins, check‑outs and in‑house requests efficiently.
• Anticipate guest needs, resolve concerns promptly and upsell room upgrades and hotel services.
• Process arrivals, departures, billing and payments with 100% accuracy.
• Maintain accurate guest profiles, registration cards and daily handover reports.
• Handle cash and financial transactions responsibly.
• Liaise closely with Housekeeping, Concierge and Management to communicate arrivals, room readiness and special requests.
• Maintain a neat, organised front‑desk environment and uphold professional grooming and uniform standards.
• Participate in shift briefings, team meetings and ensure the welcome station is always prepared.
• Take ownership of shift deliverables, act with integrity and collaborate effectively under pressure.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric (hospitality qualification advantageous).
• Minimum 1 year front‑office or guest‑relations experience in a 4–5‑star hotel.
• Strong communication and guest‑service skills.
• Cash‑handling and billing experience.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Warm, engaging and professional presence; calm, reliable and detail‑oriented.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and service excellence.
