French speaking Business Developer/Trader – Food & Protein Commodities

About the role

Danfond Global is seeking a French‑speaking Business Developer/Trader to drive sales and trading activities across frozen protein, dry commodities, beverages and perishables. The role is remote‑first, preferably based in Gauteng, and involves building and managing a portfolio of customers throughout Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Trade products within the company’s core food and protein categories.
• Develop and nurture relationships with existing and new customers across African markets.
• Identify and open new market opportunities, negotiating prices, terms and margins.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through delivery and payment.
• Monitor market trends, risk and margin discipline to protect profitability.
• Travel approximately 40 days per year to client sites, especially in West Africa.

Required profile

• Strong commercial instinct with a deal‑driven mindset.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Established network of contacts in the food, beverage or protein commodities sector.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to travel frequently across Africa.
• Experience in B2B sales, trading, export or cross‑border commodity transactions.
