Freelance AI Trainer – Small Business Owner

About the role

We are seeking current small‑business owners or managers to help train the next generation of AI systems that support entrepreneurs. Your real‑world experience will be used to create high‑quality training data for large‑scale language models.

Key responsibilities

• Engage the AI model with realistic small‑business scenarios and operational challenges.
• Evaluate model outputs on budgeting, pricing, marketing, hiring, vendor management, customer communication and compliance.
• Assess practicality of responses, capture reproducible error traces and provide structured feedback.
• Help refine prompts, evaluation criteria and identify where the model oversimplifies trade‑offs.
• Document decision‑making processes and collaborate with the AI research team to improve evaluation metrics.

Required profile

• Current owner, co‑owner or manager of a small business (any sector).
• Hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day decisions in operations, finance, marketing or staffing.
• Clear, metacognitive communication to explain why decisions are made.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Prompt engineering and experience interacting with AI language model interfaces (e.g., ChatGPT, GPT‑4).

What we offer

• Hourly compensation between $20 and $100, based on experience and location.
• Fully remote, flexible schedule.
• Contractor role – you provide your own secure computer and high‑speed internet.
