Fortinet Design Engineering Lead (LAN/WLAN)

About the role

NSC Global is seeking a senior Design Engineering Lead to own the design and delivery of Fortinet‑based LAN/WLAN solutions for a global transformation and managed‑service engagement. The role will shape Day‑1 architecture and ensure a smooth transition to Day‑2 operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design of Fortinet LAN/WLAN solutions across enterprise environments.
• Produce high‑level and low‑level designs (HLD/LLD) aligned with customer requirements and best practices.
• Lead technical governance, design authority, and solution assurance activities.
• Support transformation delivery with remote design guidance and onsite implementation assistance.
• Collaborate with Project Management, GNOC, and Service Delivery teams to ensure seamless handover to BAU.
• Provide technical leadership for IMACD, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
• Engage stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and implementing Fortinet LAN/WLAN solutions (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP).
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, security, and SD‑WAN.
• Experience operating in global managed‑service environments.
• Ability to act as a design authority and make architectural decisions.
• Strong documentation skills for HLD/LLD, standards, and governance artefacts.
• Experience supporting transition from project (Day‑1) to managed services (Day‑2).
• Desirable: Fortinet certifications (NSE4–NSE7) and experience in multi‑vendor environments.
