Foods Department Manager (Tembisa)

About the role

A leading South African retail company is looking for an experienced, customer‑focused Foods Department Manager to lead the Foods area of its Tembisa store. You will be responsible for driving sales, managing stock, and delivering high‑quality service while developing a motivated team.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve departmental sales targets and budgets.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards.
• Lead, coach and develop the Foods team, including recruitment and performance management.
• Oversee daily operational processes, stock control, replenishment and loss prevention.
• Execute promotions, special events and initiatives to maximise sales.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement improvement plans.
• Support overall store objectives through teamwork and participation in store operations.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF qualification.
• Minimum 3 years management experience in FMCG retail Foods department.
• Strong understanding of stock management and retail operations.
• Valid driver’s licence, own reliable vehicle and residence in Tembisa.
