Fixed Assets and Projects Accountant

About the role

Assist in managing the company’s fixed assets and project accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Oversee the financial lifecycle of fixed assets and building projects, including cost tracking, depreciation, and capitalisation in line with policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate project accounting processes and system administration for building projects.
• Manage accounts payable for building projects, including vendor onboarding and BBBEE compliance.
• Supervise fixed asset accounting, policies, procedures, and assets under construction.
• Administer capital purchase order approvals and capital budget creation within SAP.
• Monitor workflows, provide support, and drive continuous improvements and standardisation.
• Minimise risks and ensure audit compliance.
• Supervise and develop team members.

Required profile

• B.Com Accounting / Finance degree.
• Minimum 5 years experience in corporate finance, with at least 3 years in fixed asset accounting.
• At least 2 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with SAP ERP (FI/CO or Asset Accounting) and SAP Projects system preferred.
