Financial Reporting & Audit Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting & Audit Specialist to join our Private Markets team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will own the preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and lead audit delivery for a portfolio of private market funds, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality Annual Financial Statements for private market funds.
• Manage and coordinate external audits from start to finish.
• Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, addressing technical queries promptly.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and enhance CaseWare financial statement files and templates.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification or equivalent.
• 4–7+ years of experience in financial reporting or fund accounting.
• Proven expertise in AFS preparation and audit management.
• Advanced knowledge of CaseWare.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, including IFRS 9, 10 and 13.
• Detail‑oriented, able to meet tight deadlines across multiple funds.
• Confident communicator with auditors and senior stakeholders.
