Financial Manager – FP&A

About the role

The Financial Manager – FP&A will join a leading financial services organisation in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and providing strategic insights that guide business decisions in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor daily cash flow and ensure robust financial controls.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and financial reporting packs for committees.
• Analyse results, explain variances and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, regulatory frameworks and internal policies.
• Interpret financial data to support decision‑making and investigate anomalies.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, present results and collaborate on planning needs.
• Lead, coach and develop junior finance staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting within a financial services or insurance environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasts and cash monitoring.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including presenting to executive committees.
• Leadership experience in supervising and developing junior finance team members.
