Financial Controller – Manufacturing (Cullinan/Bronkhorstspruit)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established packaging manufacturer serving the bottled water and soft‑drinks market, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller. You will own the finance function, partner closely with production, and drive performance in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the finance function, preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow and oversee AP, AR and general ledger activities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and financial regulations; liaise with auditors and external stakeholders.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Develop and improve financial controls, reporting processes and product costing models.
• Lead ERP implementation, act as internal ERP champion and support system optimisation.
• Maintain Bills of Materials, monitor inventory valuation and raw‑material costs.
• Partner with production to align financial and operational planning and provide performance analysis to senior management.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting or related qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, financial management or as a Financial Controller.
• Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts and managing budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
• Own reliable transport and willingness to travel to Ekandustria (between Cullinan and Bronkhorstspruit).

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems and ERP implementation.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
