Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a leading logistics company operating across Gauteng, is looking for a Financial Controller to provide financial insight and drive performance across its branch network. The role focuses on turning complex data into actionable strategies that improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and analyse monthly branch profit and loss statements for accuracy and insight.
• Examine revenue, costs, margins and operational drivers to assess performance against targets.
• Identify volume trends and their impact on profitability.
• Meet regularly with Branch Managers to discuss results, explain variances and plan improvements.
• Support branches in cost‑optimisation and productivity initiatives.
• Ensure financial reporting integrity through data validation and reconciliations.
• Identify financial and operational risks from trends and anomalies.
• Provide financial insights for budgeting, forecasting and planning.
• Translate complex financial information for non‑finance stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of financial analysis or management accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and data‑interpretation abilities.
• Proven experience in profit and loss management.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when presenting financial insights to non‑finance colleagues.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
