Financial Controller

About the role

The organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to own its finance operations and ensure financial integrity across a multi‑entity environment. This role is ideal for a detail‑driven leader who enjoys improving processes, delivering accurate reporting, and providing strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Take full accountability for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close cycles.
• Maintain accurate reconciliations, trial balances and financial records.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and South African tax legislation.
• Lead end‑to‑end audit processes and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
• Oversee cash‑flow planning, banking activities and treasury functions.
• Supervise and develop the finance team to enhance overall performance.
• Manage intercompany accounts and transactions across multiple entities.
• Prepare and present variance analysis to support business decisions.
• Coordinate and execute group consolidations.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
• Minimum 3 + years post‑articles experience and 3‑5 years in a management role.
• Proven ability to run the full finance function independently.
• Experience in project, construction or intercompany‑driven environments is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong technical understanding of financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
