Financial Analyst – Renewable Energy

About the role

An established renewable energy company in Cape Town is seeking a commercially‑minded Financial Analyst to join its high‑performing finance team. You will work on large‑scale sustainable energy projects, developing robust financial models and providing insight that drives investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance detailed financial models for renewable energy projects.
• Perform project valuations, scenario analyses and investment feasibility assessments.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning.
• Prepare investment committee packs and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze project performance and deliver commercial recommendations.
• Collaborate with development, commercial and executive teams to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or Financial Modeller.
• Proven experience in financial modelling; experience in renewable energy, infrastructure or project finance is a plus.
• CFA qualification or progress towards CFA is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel financial modelling.
• Power BI proficiency.
• Experience with financial modelling software.
