Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join a leading manufacturing company located in the east of Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing day‑to‑day transactions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post accounting entries and ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Manage stock records and coordinate inventory movements.
• Handle administrative tasks related to imports, exports and customs documentation.
• Support cost‑leadership initiatives and monitor cost structures.
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ, corporate governance, legal and taxation/secretarial requirements.

Required profile

• Associate degree in accounting or finance (minimum).
• Professional qualification such as CIMA or SAIPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with computer applications used for accounting and data analysis.
• Understanding of advanced management accounting, VAT, debtor and creditor practices, King III governance, and import/export regulations (Incoterms).
