Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant will partner with operational heads to ensure financial information is reported in line with IFRS standards, company policy and business requirements. The role provides commercial and financial oversight, monitors performance against approved budgets and maintains effective communication between finance and the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial control for a designated area, monitor and control expenditure, and interpret unusual figures.
• Collect and analyse financial data, investigate anomalies and ensure accurate processing.
• Conduct complex cost accounting analyses, identify variances and suggest efficiencies to improve profitability.
• Prepare and manage budgets, coordinate budget templates, liaise with stakeholders and resolve budget issues.
• Ensure operational compliance with mandatory procedures and regulatory codes.
• Prepare and coordinate various financial reports and insights for senior management.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant laws and regulations affecting the finance function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial reporting under IFRS.
• Ability to prepare budgets, forecasts and perform variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills to investigate data anomalies and cost structures.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the insurance sector.
• Effective communication skills to liaise between finance and operational teams.
