Financial Accountant – General Ledger & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Pretoria. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity of the General Ledger, preparing monthly management accounts, and supporting audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record all daily, weekly and monthly transactions in the General Ledger and ensure timely posting.
• Reconcile General Ledger control accounts, including inter‑company balances, on a monthly basis.
• Maintain cash books, allocate entries correctly, and reconcile all bank accounts weekly.
• Control petty cash and assist with debtor and creditor reconciliations, keeping age analyses clear.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and prepare journal entries for management accounts.
• Ensure compliance with BEE requirements and support external auditors during audits.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Finance.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and B.Com Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Completed articles and at least 4 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards and BEE regulations.

Required skills

• Sage Evolution accounting software.
