Financial Accountant CA(SA)

About the role

This full‑time Financial Accountant role is based in Durban and sits within a well‑established services and distribution organisation. Reporting to the Finance Manager/Controller, the position blends core financial reporting, controls and compliance with commercial analysis, offering the chance to influence decision‑making and drive efficiencies across a multi‑regional finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and capture month‑end journal entries and review supplier invoices.
• Oversee creditor and debtor functions, including reconciliations and age analysis.
• Prepare and analyse monthly income statements, balance‑sheet reconciliations and variance reports.
• Compile quarterly reporting packs, audit schedules and compliance documentation.
• Develop regional forecasts, annual budgets and perform cash‑flow reporting.
• Manage fixed‑asset reconciliations, purchase orders and procurement spend monitoring.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Conduct stock takes, inventory reconciliations and margin analysis.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations and payroll‑to‑GL matching.
• Provide input on cost optimisation, revenue enhancement and financial process improvements.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
• Post‑graduate accounting qualification (Honours or equivalent).
• Strong numerical and analytical ability with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• IFRS financial reporting standards.
