Finance Manager – Pharmaceutical Operations

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead financial planning, analysis and cash‑flow management for a pharmaceutical operation in Parktown, Johannesburg. Reporting to senior management, the role combines strategic insight with hands‑on operational efficiency to drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis and financial forecasts to support strategic decision‑making.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales and Operations to identify cost‑optimization opportunities and streamline processes.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity and working capital, implementing effective cash‑management strategies.
• Lead annual financial audits, liaise with auditors and compile supporting documentation for financial statements.
• Mentor and develop a team of financial analysts, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.

Required profile

• CA (SA) or CIMA qualification with 5‑10 years post‑articles experience outside of auditing.
• Proven track record as a Financial Manager, preferably within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis.
• Excellent communication, analytical and leadership abilities.
