Finance Manager (Non-profit)

About the role

An established non‑profit organisation supporting strategic social development across South Africa is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its Sandton team. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Operations, you will strengthen financial management, IFRS reporting, budgeting, forecasting and tax compliance while overseeing donor‑funded grants and restricted/unrestricted funds.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and audit‑ready supporting schedules in accordance with IFRS.
• Draft annual financial statements and ensure accurate, compliant disclosures.
• Develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and cash‑flow models, monitoring performance against budget.
• Oversee payment processing, procurement compliance, delegation‑of‑authority controls and the fixed‑asset register.
• Manage financial reporting and compliance for restricted and unrestricted donor funding, including review of grantee reports.
• Ensure tax compliance and timely submission of all required filings.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, respond to audit requests and implement recommendations.
• Lead and support finance team members while liaising with auditors, donors, funding partners and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• BCom Honors in Accounting, CTA or equivalent.
• At least three years post‑articles accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience preparing annual financial statements, management accounts and audit‑ready reconciliations.
• Direct people‑management experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
