Finance Manager – Luxury Game Reserve

About the role

The private game reserve, part of an internationally recognised hotel and lodge group, is looking for a Finance Manager to lead the full accounting and financial function. Based at the head office in Cape Town, the role combines strategic financial oversight with hands‑on management and includes monthly travel to the lodge.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records in line with reporting standards and Group Finance SOPs.
• Process daily financial data including invoices and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and executive summaries, analysing variances against prior year, budget and forecast.
• Compile and submit the monthly management pack to Newmark Head Office and address related queries.
• Execute routine monthly journal entries and ensure compliance with company policies and SOPs.
• Conduct monthly stock takes, forecast reviews and balance‑sheet reconciliations.

Required profile

• Junior CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (essential).
• Minimum five years post‑qualification experience, preferably in hospitality, luxury lodges or tourism.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude, high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• SAGE accounting software.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Knowledge of South African Tax and VAT legislation.
• Understanding of financial reporting standards.
