Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial function of Kelvin Grove Club, a prestigious private members’ club in Cape Town. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for financial governance, strategic planning and operational excellence across the club’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the club’s full finance function, preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections, and analyse business performance to provide strategic insights.
• Ensure accurate recording of transactions, maintain internal controls, and guarantee compliance with VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and other legislation.
• Oversee member accounts, debtor collection, creditor reconciliations and cash‑management, including investment returns.
• Manage inventory control, investigate variances and support procurement and supplier management.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, identify automation opportunities and oversee finance‑related IT tools.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture and succession planning.

Required profile

• BCom in Accounting or Financial Management (or equivalent) with a professional designation such as CIMA, SAIPA or ACCA preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in a financial management role within hospitality, leisure or private club environments.
• Strong knowledge of South African tax and statutory requirements and experience managing external audits.
