Finance Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Lead to serve as the primary technical accounting anchor for a fast‑scaling global digital assets firm. Based in Cape Town and reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, you will own complex technical accounting queries, oversee digital‑asset and foundation accounting, and mentor the finance team during a pivotal growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end technical accounting for digital assets, Web3 protocols, and cryptocurrency foundations.
• Act as the main technical contact for complex, non‑standard accounting queries and incomplete financial data.
• Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies tailored to digital assets and decentralized structures.
• Execute financial processes and balance management using specialised digital‑asset management and tracking tools.
• Guide and support junior finance team members through technical accounting scenarios and operational workflows.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification with 3–5 years post‑articles experience, or CIMA/SAIPA qualification with 2+ years hands‑on digital‑asset experience.
• Proven track record in crypto, Web3 or digital‑asset accounting workflows and foundation structures.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical accounting issues in environments with incomplete information.

Required skills

• Digital‑asset accounting software such as Bitwave or Cryptow‑orth.
• Technical accounting for crypto, Web3 and digital‑asset foundations.
• Strong knowledge of evolving accounting standards for digital assets.

What we offer

• Competitive total‑cash compensation ranging from R1,100,000 to R1,400,000 per year.
