Finance Clerk

About the role

The Finance Clerk will support a commercial finance company in Centurion by handling day‑to‑day accounting operations. This position requires accurate processing of transactions, compliance with South African financial regulations, and effective use of specialised finance software.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with NCA, FICA and POPIA.
• Support asset‑based finance administration, including documentation and tracking.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience as a Finance Clerk, Finance Administrator, Accounts Clerk or Bookkeeper within financial services, lending or asset finance.
• Matric qualification; a diploma or certificate in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant tertiary education is advantageous.
• Ability to provide contactable references and recent payslips.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with Sage, Acquire, Paym8 and Draftworx.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger management.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles, VAT, NCA, FICA and POPIA.
• Familiarity with asset‑based finance administration.
