Field Service Technician

About the role

As a Field Service Technician you will be the on‑site representative of Kwick Access Rental, ensuring that our fleet of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) is kept to the highest safety and performance standards. You will work alongside senior technicians to carry out installations, preventative maintenance and rapid‑response repairs for clients in construction and commercial maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections, functional tests and preventative maintenance on scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts and other MEWPs.
• Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
• Conduct Post‑Delivery Inspections (PDI) and verify compliance with MEWP safety standards.
• Maintain accurate digital service records, job cards and monthly stock‑take reports.
• Apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols to ensure a zero‑harm working environment.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification or relevant trade certification (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Millwright, Electrical Engineering).
• 2–3 years of experience in a technical field service, maintenance or repair environment, preferably with hydraulics or electrical systems.
• Valid unrestricted South African driver’s licence for field travel.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including standby rotations and occasional overtime.
