Field Case Manager – Inland South Region

About the role

The Field Case Manager will be based at the corporate office in Dunkeld and will support the Inland South region. Reporting to the Regional Financial Manager, the role focuses on managing financial and clinical administrative risks for patients across general and specialised units.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ward rounds, collect complete clinic data from patient files and liaise with nursing staff and clinicians.
• Update clinical information to justify length of stay and level of care for medical funders.
• Provide funders with required information on high‑value items, limited benefits and protocol compliance.
• Manage real‑time and manual messaging, including requests, responses, rejections and submissions.
• Ensure accurate coding and submission of patient accounts and adherence to RSRT contracts and FFS claims.
• Report identified risks, investigate alerts and maintain compliance with governance, risk management and service level agreements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Associates, Paramedics, Critical Care Assistance or related health disciplines.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council or relevant professional body.
• Proven leadership, change and people‑management experience.
• Ability to travel and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Clinical coding and terminology knowledge.
• Understanding of COID regulations.
• Computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
