Fibre Optic Network Planner

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑driven Fibre Optic Network Planner to design and optimise fibre networks for residential, commercial and multi‑tenant developments across South Africa. You will turn complex as‑built data into efficient network layouts that support reliable connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and verify daily as‑built data using tools such as OSP Insight and NMT.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in layouts, labelling and locations before updating systems.
• Create splice diagrams and route plans to guide field teams.
• Design and plan FTTH, FTTB and FTTX networks for single dwellings, estates and multi‑tenant buildings.
• Develop scalable network layouts using splitters and point‑to‑point connections.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth roll‑outs and maintain up‑to‑date design documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in fibre network planning.
• Qualification in Telecommunications, Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Experience on large‑scale fibre rollout projects is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with NMT, OSP Insight or similar planning tools.
• Strong understanding of FTTH, FTTB, FTTX design and fibre network architecture.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
