Fashion Designer - Womenswear Activewear

About the role

Burnt Studios is an activewear brand designing performance and lifestyle apparel for people who move. As it grows its ranges, it is building out its design team and is looking for a mid-level fashion designer to help shape the future of its womenswear offering. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with design experience, whether as a fashion designer, apparel/product designer or graphic designer, with a genuine enthusiasm for activewear.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and development of womens activewear ranges, from initial concept through to production-ready artwork and tech packs
• Research trends, fabrics and the competitive activewear and athleisure landscape to inform seasonal collections
• Create technical drawings (CADs), prints and graphics using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Collaborate with the Senior Designer, Fashion Designers and buying team so designs are commercially and technically viable
• Prepare and maintain accurate techpacks, spec sheets and design documentation
• Source and select fabrics, trims and print or pattern references aligned with the brand's identity
• Support fittings and sample reviews, giving design input and revisions
• Keep up to date with activewear trends, competitor ranges and customer feedback

Required profile

• Around 2-5 years of design experience in fashion, apparel, product or graphic design; the exact title matters less than a proven track record in fashion and/or product design
• A strong portfolio showing design skill and creative range
• Genuine interest and enthusiasm for womenswear and activewear
• Understanding of garment construction, fabrics and production processes is an advantage, or a strong willingness to learn quickly
• Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and comfort working in a small, fast-moving team
