Facultative (FACS) Broker

About the role

Marsh Re is looking for a Facultative Broker to join its Facultative department in Sandton, South Africa. The role is hybrid, with at least three days a week spent in the office. You will use your knowledge of market practices, pricing and underwriting appetite to structure and place facultative reinsurance solutions that meet client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop placement solutions using risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers.
• Implement the Placement strategy to achieve growth goals and deliver exceptional client service.
• Prepare and present coverage specifications and quotes to cedents, and obtain and negotiate quotes and terms.
• Bind coverage and ensure the accuracy of placement binders.
• Maintain relationships with practice, reinsurance markets, client carriers and underwriters.
• Advise cedents on changing market conditions and major product developments.
• Support client retention and new business production.
• Drive senior placement and technical support on assigned accounts, including procedural compliance, data review and accurate placement system entries.
• Advise management on client issues and trends and help develop solutions.

Required profile

• FAIS compliant, RE 5.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a broker, particularly in corporate and commercial business.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, strong on time management and organisation, and a team player.
