Facilities Consultant

About the role

The Facilities Consultant will coordinate all activities related to building maintenance, office furniture, stationery, supplies and groceries. You will ensure a safe, efficient and compliant working environment while optimizing space and managing security and safety functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual building maintenance schedules and oversee day‑to‑day upkeep.
• Coordinate contractors for repairs, maintenance and infrastructure projects.
• Manage hygiene, cleaning, refreshment, driver/handyman and reception staff, including performance and development.
• Optimize office space utilisation and control related costs.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, OHS Act and South African National Standards (SANS 10400).
• Handle procurement of movable assets, groceries, cleaning materials and liaise with suppliers and landlords.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships, negotiate contracts, obtain quotes and manage facility‑related risk and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or property management.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, OHS legislation and procurement processes.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and internal teams simultaneously.

Required skills

• Knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS 10400).
• Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
