Export Client Services Clerk

About the role

The Export Client Services Clerk provides professional, prompt support to export shippers and assists Export Sales Development Managers with office tasks. The role ensures smooth handling of client queries, booking processes, and shipment tracking while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve client queries and complaints, informing the relevant Sales Development Manager.
• Conduct client visits with SDM to address issues and provide education.
• Review daily booking summaries, correct errors, and ensure VIP client requirements are met.
• Handle container pick‑up queries, send holding emails, and monitor abandon cargo notifications.
• Issue Manifest Corrector instructions and coordinate with the documentation department.
• Process refunds for vessel name changes and perform after‑hours Navis duties as scheduled.
• Quote rates in consultation with sales, confirm bookings, and manage account/demurrage queries.
• Notify clients of vessel schedule changes and keep management informed of notable developments.
• Perform any reasonable ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the employer.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• 2–3 years of experience in the shipping industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
