Experienced Trauma Registered Nurse

About the role

The Trauma Registered Nurse will provide specialised, person‑centred care to patients presenting with acute injuries at Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and implement holistic nursing interventions for trauma cases.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Coordinate care with physicians, allied health professionals and families.
• Serve as a clinical resource, guiding staff in documentation and nursing procedures.
• Initiate and lead emergency resuscitation (RESUS) when required.
• Maintain clear communication between nursing management and the unit to resolve care issues.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, nursing standards and medical directives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification with a focus on trauma care.
• Proven experience in an acute or emergency setting.
• Strong ability to advocate for patients and families.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
