Experienced Registered Nurse – Medical ICU (2 positions)

About the role

Life Healthcare Group is seeking two experienced Registered Nurses to join the Medical ICU at Life Eugene Marais Hospital in Johannesburg. The role involves delivering holistic, high‑quality nursing care to critically ill patients and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide basic and specialised nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Communicate continuously with patients and families regarding condition and care plans.
• Administer medication in line with ethical and legal frameworks.
• Manage ICU stock, equipment and instrumentation, ensuring functionality and compliance with unit policies.
• Coordinate with doctors, execute prescriptions, and report any clinical concerns.
• Supervise and train staff, ensuring appropriate skill mix and adherence to scope of practice.

Required profile

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate with a relevant Nursing degree or diploma.
• Experience working in High Care or ICU settings.
• Strong customer orientation, ability to work under pressure and in a changing environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexi‑hours and on‑call as required.
