Experienced Plastic Machine Setter

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Plastic Machine Setter to join a leading plastic manufacturing company in Germiston, Gauteng. The role involves setting up and operating blow‑moulding and injection‑moulding machines to produce high‑quality plastic components on a permanent basis.

Key responsibilities

• Set up plastic manufacturing machines according to product specifications and production schedules.
• Perform mould changes, machine start‑ups and production change‑overs.
• Run first‑off samples, obtain quality approval and adjust settings as needed.
• Monitor machine performance, make process adjustments and maintain product quality.
• Assist with planned maintenance, repairs and troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Record machine settings, changes and incidents in logbooks.
• Maintain housekeeping, hygiene and safety standards in the machine area.

Required profile

• Matric with Mathematics.
• Relevant technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical experience setting up plastic processing machinery.
• Experience with blow moulding and/or injection moulding machines is highly advantageous.
• Willingness to work production shifts and support breakdown resolution.
