Experienced Clinical Nurse – ICU Neuro

About the role

The Professional Nurse/Clinical Nurse – ICU Neuro at Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital provides holistic, person‑centred care to critically ill neurological patients and their families. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and implement individualized nursing interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Neuro‑ICU, following evidence‑based protocols and hospital SOPs.
• Act as a clinical resource, supporting staff in assessment, documentation and care planning.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and health‑care professionals, advocating for optimal patient outcomes.
• Coordinate with nursing management to resolve care issues and ensure continuity.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across the hospital as required.
• Interview patients and families to gather relevant clinical information and identify immediate and long‑term needs.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) with experience in intensive care, preferably neuro‑critical care.
• Strong understanding of holistic nursing theory and person‑centred practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
