Experienced Accountant for Growing South African Firm

About the role

Join a well‑established and expanding South African accounting firm as an Accountant. You will manage a portfolio of clients, deliver high‑quality accounting services and work with a variety of cloud and desktop accounting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 20 clients across various industries, supported by a dedicated assistant.
• Perform full bookkeeping up to trial balance, process journals and conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage debtors and creditors, including reconciliations.
• Prepare and review VAT calculations.
• Act as payroll administrator for your client portfolio.
• Compile monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with clients on accounting queries and financial information needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Accountant within an accounting practice or multi‑client environment (minimum 5 years).
• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and analytical abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team.
