Estate Operations Director

About the role

We are seeking an Estate Operations Director to take full ownership of an international residential portfolio for a globally prominent principal. This remote, senior‑level position blends hands‑on property oversight with leadership of high‑performing household teams across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop household teams (drivers, chefs, housemaids, maintenance crews, gardeners), handling scheduling, performance, and all employment decisions.
• Ensure the property portfolio operates without surprises, maintaining a standardized House Manual and SOP system for seamless onboarding of new properties.
• Renegotiate and manage vendor contracts, enforce cost‑discipline targets, and maintain single‑point accountability for spend.
• Design and operate verification, reporting, and escalation systems that provide full visibility into the remote portfolio.
• Codify a consistent service standard into portable systems that sustain quality across jurisdictions, staff turnover, and new property integrations.

Required profile

• Proven ability to identify and resolve operational problems proactively.
• 5+ years in private residential management, luxury hospitality operations, or a comparable high‑service environment.
• Experience leading and developing teams of ten or more, with direct people‑operations accountability.
• Fluent use of AI tools in a professional setting.
• Oversight of multiple properties across more than one country, supporting high‑net‑worth principals.
• Track record of building operational systems from scratch and strong vendor‑management and budget discipline.
• Fluent English; additional languages a plus.
• Preferred: formal hospitality or residential‑management credentials and experience onboarding new properties.

Required skills

What we offer

• Annual total compensation up to $192,500, including a base salary up to $175,000.
