Enrolled Nurse – Trauma ICU

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU) at Netcare Unitas Hospital. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to high‑quality patient outcomes and uphold the hospital’s values of care, truth, participation, compassion and dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients, following care plans initiated by the Registered Nurse.
• Perform accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Manage nursing stock, ensure proper charging, and assist with file compilation.
• Maintain a therapeutic, clean, and safe environment, adhering to waste‑management and medico‑legal standards.
• Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care programmes.

Required profile

• Qualified Enrolled Nurse (registered with the South African Nursing Council).
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and be accountable for personal actions.
• Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and high‑quality patient care.

Required skills

• Proficiency in clinical nursing procedures and patient monitoring.
• Accurate clinical documentation skills.
• Understanding of medical waste and infection control protocols.
