Enrolled Nurse – Patient Care

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with the South African Nursing Council scope of practice. This position involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, supporting medical staff, and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure easy retrieval.
• Manage stock levels, control inventory, and report discrepancies.
• Observe and promote employee safety and adhere to medical waste management protocols.
• Ensure proper use, cleaning, and storage of medical equipment; report repairs or risks.
• Uphold infection control standards to keep the environment clean and safe.
• Measure, interpret, record, and report vital signs.
• Perform wound dressing, suture and clip removal.
• Assist doctors and professional nurses as needed.
• Collect laboratory specimens and update registers.
• Administer injections, family‑planning injectables, and intravenous infusions.
• Issue and record chronic medication and compile daily observation data.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate.
• Certificate in Enrolled Nursing.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• 2–3 years proven experience as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Proficiency in MS Office / Office 365.
