Enrolled Nurse - Medical ICU 1

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Medical ICU at Netcare St Augustine's Hospital. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will be accountable for delivering safe, high‑quality care and supporting the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and manage stock and equipment usage.
• Ensure a therapeutic, clean and safe environment, adhering to waste‑management and occupational safety regulations.
• Deliver patient care within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice, including assessment, implementation and evaluation of care plans.
• Participate in handovers, quality‑improvement programmes and infection‑prevention protocols.
• Supervise and support Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENAs) and contribute to their education and training.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Compliance with SANC code and relevant health‑care legislation.
• Relevant experience in a nursing discipline, preferably in an intensive‑care setting.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and competency in CPR.
