Enrolled Nurse – Maternity / Obstetrics

About the role

Our client, a private hospital in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, is seeking an Enrolled Nurse (EN) with experience in maternity and obstetrics to cover part‑time shifts. The role involves delivering safe, high‑quality care to mothers and newborns while adhering to the nursing scope of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the maternity/obstetrics ward.
• Perform clinical procedures and assessments as required.
• Monitor and manage patient risks in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Immediate availability for shift work.
• Valid South African Nursing Council (SANC) licence.
• Prior experience working in a maternity or obstetrics ward.
• Strong understanding of the nursing scope of practice and patient care standards.

Required skills

• Competence in performing and assessing relevant clinical procedures.
• Risk management in a clinical setting.
