Enrolled Nurse – ICU2 (Intensive Care Unit)

About the role

The Enrolled Nurse will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the ICU2 unit of Netcare uMhlanga Hospital. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to high‑quality patient care while adhering to Netcare’s values of care, truth, participation, compassion and dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to individual patients or groups, following the care plan initiated by the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and ensure proper stock management.
• Support a safe, clean therapeutic environment and comply with medical waste and occupational safety regulations.
• Report equipment issues, assist with equipment cleaning, storage and repair coordination.
• Supervise Enrolled Nursing Assistants (ENAs) and ensure adherence to hospital policies.
• Participate in governance, quality and risk management activities, reporting any identified risks.

Required profile

• Registered Enrolled Nurse qualification.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and be accountable for personal actions.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Willingness to follow Netcare’s clinical and safety protocols.

Required skills

• Clinical documentation and record‑keeping.
• Stock and equipment management.
• Understanding of medical waste handling and occupational safety standards.
