Enrolled Nurse – ICU

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality nursing care in line with the Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice, supporting patients throughout their critical care journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Essential: Enrolled Nurse Certificate.
• Desired: CPD courses relevant to specialised ICU wards.
• Essential experience: none required.
• Desired experience: 1 year post-qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) trained.
• Infection prevention and control.
• Pharmacology knowledge.
• Scientific nursing principles and processes.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Nursing processes and procedures.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation.
• Nursing care plan development.
• Risk identification.
