Enrolled Nurse – ICU (Intensive Care Unit)

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join its Intensive Care Unit. The role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality nursing care in line with the professional scope of practice while supporting a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse Certificate (essential).
• For specialised wards, completion of CPD courses in the relevant speciality (desired).
• No minimum experience required; 1 year post‑qualification experience preferred before placement in a specialised unit.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) trained.
• Infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Pharmacology understanding.
• Scientific nursing principles and processes.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Nursing processes and procedures.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
• Familiarity with relevant nursing legislation.
• Nursing care plan development.
• Risk identification abilities.
