Enrolled Nurse – Emergency Centre

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join its Emergency Centre. The role involves delivering safe, high‑quality nursing care to patients presenting with urgent medical needs, working within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, quality nursing care in line with the Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice.
• Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Identify, prevent and report risks to maintain patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a supportive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all stock and equipment used are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Enrolled Nurse Certificate (essential).
• For specialised wards, completion of CPD courses in the relevant specialty (desired).
• No minimum experience required; 1 year post‑qualification experience in a specialised unit is desirable.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support trained.
• Infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Understanding of pharmacology and scientific nursing principles.
• Patient assessment and nursing process skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with relevant nursing legislation and care‑plan development.
• Risk identification capabilities.
