Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary (X1) – Full‑time

About the role

Life Healthcare Group is seeking an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary (X1) to join the Waverley Care Centre team in Johannesburg. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will help deliver uncompromising quality care for intermediate‑care patients while adhering to health and nursing legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain health, safety and infection‑prevention standards.
• Provide basic nursing duties within the Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary scope of practice.
• Support patient activities and communicate effectively with patients, families and relatives.
• Observe and report any abnormal changes in patient condition to the ward‑in‑charge.
• Assist in creating a safe environment for patient care.
• Participate in in‑service training, ongoing education and health‑education campaigns.
• Contribute to the implementation of rehabilitation programmes and cost‑control measures.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (NSC) certificate.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Minimum two years nursing experience in a hospital or care‑centre setting.
• English subject passed at Matric level.
• Ability to work shifts, handle pressure and focus on quality performance.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Resilient, energetic and customer‑oriented.
