Engineering Project Manager – Operations Engineering (AMET)

About the role

Join Amazon’s Operations Engineering team to lead the expansion and upgrade of our network across Africa, the Middle East and Turkey (AMET). You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of automation, goods‑lift and storage systems for new and existing fulfillment facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full project lifecycle—from business requirements and concept design through budget approval, vendor selection, detailed engineering, execution, testing and Go‑Live.
• Develop operational site designs using CAD, influence building size and layout, and define required technologies to meet capacity goals.
• Lead the E2E delivery of material handling equipment (MHE), storage solutions and goods‑lift systems, securing budgets up to $50 M, running RFPs, selecting vendors and benchmarking cost efficiency.
• Build business cases for retrofit projects, demonstrate financial viability and integrate new systems without disrupting ongoing operations.
• Manage installation, testing and commissioning of the systems, ensuring adherence to budget, quality, safety and schedule.
• Serve as the primary interface for internal and external stakeholders, coordinating closely with pre‑construction, MEP and IT teams.

Required profile

• Technical professional with strong ownership and the ability to deliver large‑scale engineering projects (greenfield and brownfield).
• Experience designing and executing automation, goods‑lift and storage solutions in fulfillment or industrial environments.
• Proven ability to develop financial models, business cases and manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
• Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills with internal teams and external vendors.
