Engineering Project Manager – Cape Town

About the role

The Engineering Project Manager will be a core member of Octotel’s Engineering division, responsible for leading and coordinating engineering‑focused projects from initiation through to successful delivery. The role ensures projects are planned, managed and completed on time, within scope and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of advanced administrative and project coordination tasks, including data management, documentation review and report preparation.
• Assist in developing comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables.
• Lead task and activity coordination across cross‑functional teams to align with strategic project goals.
• Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing proactive updates and addressing concerns.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, schedules and reports to support decision‑making.
• Plan, organise and oversee project timelines, ensuring key milestones are met.
• Identify, assess and propose mitigation strategies for potential risks and issues.
• Monitor deliverables for compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Drive issue resolution by engaging relevant teams and proposing effective solutions.
• Facilitate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and track action items.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the project lifecycle.
• Provide coordination and administrative support to Engineering leadership for strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed relevant tertiary qualification (Degree/B‑Tech).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar engineering project management role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and time‑management abilities.
