About the role
Join specialised mining and raise‑bore drilling operations, ensuring equipment reliability, safety and strong engineering leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop a hands‑on engineering maintenance team.
- Maintain drilling rigs, plant and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Plan maintenance activities, manage breakdowns and control spares, costs and quality.
- Ensure compliance with OEM and MHSA standards for workmanship and safety.
Required profile
- Matric, relevant Trade Test and N6/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5–10 years post‑trade experience in mining, drilling or heavy industry.
- At least 3 years supervisory/foreman experience.
- Valid driver’s licence, medical fitness and willingness to travel.
Required skills
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault‑finding abilities.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
- Familiarity with raise‑bore/drilling rig operations (advantageous).
