Emergency & Medical Transport Dispatcher (Remote, EST Hours)

About the role

The Emergency & Medical Transport Dispatcher will serve as the operational hub for a high‑volume transport coordination team, handling scheduled transport requests that arrive through multiple digital channels. Working remotely from South Africa, you will support U.S.‑based ambulance and medical transport operations during EST business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor incoming transport requests across various digital platforms and claim runs within operational capacity.
• Load and manage confirmed runs accurately in the dispatch system.
• Communicate with transport teams via phone and VoIP online radio.
• Prioritise competing requests, make rapid decisions under pressure, and flag capacity issues early.
• Confirm pick‑up and drop‑off details before dispatching a run.
• Track units in real time, update statuses, and relay delays, cancellations, or route changes promptly.
• Prepare clear handover notes for the next shift.

Required profile

• Previous experience in dispatch, medical transport, emergency services, or a similar high‑volume coordination role.
• Ability to manage multiple digital channels simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and capacity to work independently.
• Reliable high‑speed fibre internet (minimum 25 Mbps) and a backup power solution for load‑shedding.
• Willingness to work rotational 12‑hour shifts and South African public holidays.
